Fox News causes confusion
Note: Fox News' coverage of the Washington State incident appears to focus on the immediate facts of the stabbing attack without explicitly emphasizing that the victims were the woman's own daughters.
Their headline and initial descriptions mention a woman stabbing a girl or children after the crash but do not specify the familial relationship in the early parts of the report.
This style of reporting can sometimes create ambiguity or give the impression that the victims were random individuals rather than the perpetrator's own children.
This approach may be due to editorial choices aimed at brevity or focusing on the dramatic elements of the event, but it can lead to confusion or incomplete understanding for readers.
Other local news sources and official reports clearly state that the victims were the woman's own two daughters, aged 9 and 15.
