10.6.26
Here are five of the major terrorism-related incidents we’ve been following over the past two weeks:
1. Niger — More than 50 security personnel were reportedly killed in jihadist attacks in the area of Abala-Filingué.
2. Nigeria — Suspected Boko Haram militants killed at least 15 civilians in northeastern Nigeria.
3. Syria — Gunmen attacked a passenger bus in Homs, killing seven people and wounding four others. The motive has not been confirmed.
4. Pakistan and Afghanistan — Pakistan carried out airstrikes against alleged terrorist targets in Afghanistan, with civilian casualties being disputed. This is more accurately described as counterterrorism military action rather than a confirmed terrorist attack.
5. Flydubai flight — A co-pilot reportedly attacked the captain with an axe and attempted to take control of the aircraft before passengers subdued him. Everyone survived, and authorities are investigating the incident, including whether terrorism was involved.
We continue to pray for the victims, their families, and everyone affected by terrorism around the world. We also pray for those who commit these terrible acts—that God would break through their hatred, bring them to repentance, and lead them to faith in Jesus Christ.
Prayer
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we ask You to comfort those who have lost loved ones to terrorism. Give strength and peace to grieving families, protect innocent people, and give wisdom and courage to those working to stop terrorism.
Lord Jesus, we pray especially for those who are committing these acts of violence. Soften their hearts, open their eyes to the truth, and lead them to genuine repentance and faith in You. Turn hearts of hatred toward love and violence toward peace.
We pray for the countries and communities affected by terrorism. Protect the innocent, strengthen those who are suffering, and help us to remember that every human life has value.
In ✝️ Jesus' name, Amen.
